FAQ
Are there any fees to send a submission to The Lotus Reader?
No, we are a non-profit organization committed to providing our users with the ability to express themselves through writing. No fees are ever charged.
Will my work automatically be published by sending it in?
Unfortunately, it is impossible to publish everything.
Am I at a disadvantage if I have not been published?/ Am I at an advantage if I have been published?
No, we do not look at previous accomplishments to determine what work goes into the literary magazine.
Does the Lotus Reader exist solely online, or is there a physical format of it as well?
Only online.
How often is the magazine updated?
Every three months.
When will I know if my work is selected?
Generally, you will know in a matter of weeks. The maximum wait-time is three months (though it almost never takes this long).
I am not sure how to categorize my work; what should I do?
Try your best to decide what category your story's elements fit best in. If you are still unsure, send it in under your best guess, and make note of the uncertainty in the submission message.
Can I send a work in as anonymous?
Sure. Just be sure to make a note of it in the body of the submission email.
